10-year-old boy killed in Dhaka road accident

The accident happened in the capital’s Hazaribagh area at around 4:30pm on Thursday

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a road accident when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit his bicycle in Dhaka.

The accident occurred in the capital’s Hazaribagh area at around 4:30pm on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Foisal, 10.

According to Faruq Hossain, father of the victim, after a bus hit the auto-rickshaw, its driver lost control and then the bus rammed into his son’s bicycle.

A critically injured victim Foisal was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where on-duty doctors declared him dead at around 6pm.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Foisal was a second-grader at a local school and lived in Dhaka’s Boubazar area with his parents.

When contacted, Hazaribagh police station Sub-Inspector (SI) AK Azad said: “We have seized both the bus and CNG-run autorickshaw.”
