A mass rally will be held against rape on February 12, said a protester
Around 50 demonstrators have protested against the rape and murder of an O Level student in Dhaka’s Kalabagan area.
They held a protest rally in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka and ended with a demonstration at Paltan intersection on Friday morning.
Students, youths and activists protested under the banner of "Dhorshon O Bicharhinotar Biruddhe Bangladesh.”

They also pressed home the previous nine-point demand of anti-rape protest which include ensuring exemplary punishment of the perpetrators involved in rape and violence against women.
Samajtantrik Chhatra Front President(Dhaka) Rafiqujjaman Farid said people from all levels including various students, youth and women's organizations will gather for a mass rally against rape in Dhaka's Shahbagh on February 12.
The student went for her tuition to Kalabagan around 1pm on Thursday.
Her body was found a few hours later; she was pronounced dead at Anwer Khan Medical Hospital, having died from excessive bleeding.
On Friday, the father of the 17-year-old victim filed a case against the lone accused, Fardin Iftekhar Dihan, with Kalabagan police station, who was later taken to court.
