Fifth 250kg war-time bomb found at Dhaka airport

The first bomb was found on December 9

Yet another bomb, weighing about 250 kg, has been discovered at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.

This is the fifth war-time bomb to be found at the airport’s third terminal construction site since December 9, reports Bangla Tribune.

HSIA Director Touhid-Ul-Ahsan told reporters that the bomb was disposed of and taken to a safer place by a bomb disposal unit of the air force.

“It appears that there are more bombs planted at the construction site, but none of those could be detected despite scanning the area several times as they are well planted below underground,” he said.

The first bomb weighing 250 kg was found on December 9, the second, third, fourth on December 14, 19 and 28 respectively.
