Move comes after an employee tests positive with Covid-19
The embassy of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) in Dhaka was declared temporarily closed on Friday, after one of the mission's employees tested Covid-19 positive.
"After an employee of the embassy got tested positive for Covid-19 on November 20, the mission will remain closed temporarily until further notice in order to ensure safety of other employees," a notice issued by the embassy says.
In case of emergency, people are advised to contact the embassy through email – [email protected]
The notice, however, did not specify whether the employee is a South Korean or Bangladeshi national.
Confirming the development to Dhaka Tribune, an official of the embassy said that every activity, including issuance of visas, would remain suspended during the time the mission stays closed.
Responding to a question, he said that as of now it could not be said how long the mission would be closed.
