Two people have died from electrocution in Dhaka in two separate incidents.
The deceased were identified as Tarikul Islam, 18, and Mobarak Hossain, 35. Tarikul was a worker at a shoe factory, while Mobarak worked as a welder.
Both the incidents occurred on Thursday.
Tarikul’s elder brother Farhad Hossain said his brother was electrocuted when he tried to turn on the television in the afternoon.
He was taken to the emergency ward of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in an unconscious state, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp in-charge Inspector Md Bacchu Miah said the body was kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, and the police station concerned had been informed about the matter.
Meanwhile, Mobarak was electrocuted while working at an under-construction building in Dhaka in the afternoon, said his coworker Enamul Hossain.
He was rushed to the DMCH in a critical condition and was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.
Inspector Bacchu Miah said the body was kept in the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
