They had an altercation concerning money
A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his teenage stepson in Dakhshinkhan area of the city at 8:30pm on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mohor Uddin, 40, son of Mohammad Ali of Kotwali police station area of Mymensingh district.
Victim’s younger brother Hridoy said that his brother’s stepson Yasin, 16, had an altercation with Mohor Uddin over money.
At one stage, the boy stabbed his stepfather in the chest, leaving him critically injured.
Mohor was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition around 10:45pm where doctors pronounced him dead, said Bacchu Miah, inspector of Dhaka Medical College police outpost.
He also said the dead body has been kept in the DMCH morgue for post-mortem.
The boy went into hiding after the incident.
Mohor Uddin lived with his wife Asma and her son Yasin in a rented house in Choraitek area of Dakhshinkhan. Yasin was his stepson.
