The raid was conducted on Sunday night
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 28 people, including 12 men and 16 women, from Gulshan for their alleged involvement in prostitution and antisocial activities.
They were arrested from a spa and a beauty parlour during a raid on Sunday night, said Gulshan police station OC Abul Hasan.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Inspector Md Aminul Islam from Gulshan police station conducted a drive at Apple Thai Spa and Chhoya Beauty Parlour on Sunday night.
The arrestees were caught red-handed, engaging in prostitution and other antisocial activities, said the OC.
He also said that a case has been filed under the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act, 2012, with the police station in this regard.
Gulshan police produced the arrestees in front of a magistrate and prayed for remand for two accused. Meanwhile, the court sent the remaining accused to jail.
"We will continue raids against such antisocial activities," the OC added.
