Detective Branch (DB) of police on Friday arrested a woman from Dhaka's Mirpur, as she is accused in a case filed for attempting to murder her husband, who is an Awami League leader in Madaripur.

The arrested is Mili Akhter, 42, wife of Ilias Ahmed Hawlader, 50, organizing secretary of Madaripur District unit Awami League.

Members of DB police also arrested a 23-year-old university student, as Mili had been staying in his house in Mirpur during the raid by DB police on Friday night.
