Gulshan Society organized the campaign
A two-day-long road safety awareness campaign in Dhaka’s Gulshan area, organized by the Gulshan Society, successfully ended on Thursday.
The campaign aimed at creating awareness among the young generation to drive safely and in a disciplined way in the residential zone.
Dhaka Tribune was a partner in the event.
As part of the campaign, separate teams with representatives of the Gulshan Society, Dhaka Tribune, and the community police visited selected areas in the residential zone and encouraged car owners and drivers to follow road signs, maintain speed limits, and follow other road safety rules.

The teams worked to raise awareness from 6pm to 12am on Wednesday and Thursday.
Members of Gulshan Society’s Community Policing and Traffic Management Committee, including Convener Shayaan Seraj and Member Secretary Md Anis Uz Zaman, were present during the campaign.
Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Shayaan Seraj said volunteers from the community police would patrol the specific points, especially where people tend to drive beyond the speed limit.
“We introduced the campaign to build awareness among the residents in Gulshan, especially the young generation,” he said.
Initiatives like this will continue in future, he added.
