The Dhaka Tribune authority has decided to suspend its Barguna correspondent Sumon Shikdar over allegations of serious personal misconduct.
The decision was implemented on Wednesday night.
An office order signed by Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan said the newspaper would not take any responsibility for the allegations and the case filed against Sumon, as well as his personal affiliations.
Dhaka Tribune is not involved in any part of the actions he is alleged to have committed, and the office never gave him any instruction to do so. Moreover, Dhaka Tribune did not publish or broadcast any such thing.
Dhaka Tribune never supports any act which is indecent, tasteless and disrespectful to any individual. Everyone is requested not to contact Sumon over any matter related to Dhaka Tribune.
