Second batch of Bangladeshis brought back from the middle eastern country
A total of 289 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in Oman due to the coronavirus pandemic, have been flown back to Dhaka.
The special flight of Oman Air carrying the migrant workers landed at the Dhaka airport at 6.21pm on Thursday, said AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
All of them will be quarantined for 14 days at a facility managed by the Armed Forces Division, he said.
The migrant workers have received a cash assistance of Tk5,000 each in line with a previous decision by the government, added the airport official.
Earlier on April 24, a batch of 288 Bangladeshis were brought back by the Bangladesh embassy in the middle eastern country.
