Senior police officials were present during the handover
The inspector general of police (IGP) has handed over 70,000 safety equipment for preventing Covid-19 infections, including 15,000 personal protective equipment (PPE), to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
IGP Dr Benazir Ahmed handed over the equipment at police headquarters on Saturday afternoon to DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam to ensure the safety of police personnel, according to a press release issued by Police Headquarters’ media cell.
Other safety equipment include 50,000 masks, 2,000 hand sanitizers, 2,000 pairs of goggles and 1,000 face shields.
Senior police officials were present during the handover.
Police headquarters said it had already dispatched the essential coronavirus safety equipment to all police units under its jurisdiction. Besides, monetary grants have been sent to all units to purchase safety items.
