About 100-150 embroidery factory workers blocked the road around 11am, demanding their wages for March
More than one hundred readymade garment (RMG) workers blocked Ring Road in the Adabor area of Dhaka on Friday, demanding payment of their outstanding wages.
Adabor police OC Shahiduzzaman told Dhaka Tribune:“About 100-150 embroidery factory workers blocked the road around 11am, demanding their wages for March.
“There are about 50-100 small RMG factories in the Adabor area, with 10-12 workers employed at each of them. Some of the factories paid their wages but others did not, so some of the workers took to the streets and blocked the road,” the OC added.
He further said police were speaking to the workers in an attempt to free the road, when rain arrived and they all went home.
“Now, everything is normal,” the OC said.
