The event titled "Baadh Bhenge Dao" held in Dhaka on February 7, was an educational seminar which encouraged Bangladeshi youths to have an open dialogue with psychologists, and also to spread awareness about common mental health issues, said a press release issued by the organization.
Around 350 people, including students, teachers, principals, and parents from notable Dhaka schools attended the program.
While addressing the attendees, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, also the special guest at the program, said: "Physical activities and mental health are intimately linked and the effects of sports on mental well-being is very prominent.
"Researches show that physical idleness is associated with the development of psychological disorders. Thus, being inactive puts teens at a higher risk of developing mental health conditions."
The seminar included lectures from psychologist and CEO of Bdlisteners, Faysal Ahmed Rafi, and psychologist Sumaya Afrin Misti followed by an interactive question-answer session with the audience. There was also a short drama about the state of mental health issues in Bangladesh.
