BNFWA comes forward to aid Banani slum fire victims

At least 200 shanties were destroyed in a devastating fire sweeping across two slums in Banani's T&T area of Dhaka on February 8

The Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association (BNFWA) has come forward to help the destitute people who became victims of Banani T&T slum fire.

The association distributed blankets and food items among the victims at T&T Boys High School in Banani area of Dhaka on Monday, a press release said.

On behalf of Bangladesh Navy, the commander of BNS Haji Mohshin, councillors of Ward 19 and 20 of Dhaka North City Corporation, and Banani police station officer-in-charge, among others, were present, it added.

At least 200 shanties were destroyed in a devastating fire sweeping across two slums in Banani's T&T area of Dhaka on February 8.

The fire affected more than 400 families and left about 2,000 people helpless.
