Police have detained the drivers of both the buses
One individual has been killed in a road accident as he was run over by a bus in Jatrabari area of Dhaka.
The accident took place near Sayedabad Ideal School and College around 11:30am on Tuesday.
The deceased - Omar Faruk Tuhin, 28, worked as an IT Engineer in an organization at Panthapath, Jatrabari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahmed Nawajis told Dhaka Tribune.
He said Tuhin was on his way to work from Kutubkhali of Jatrabari, where he lived, when an Ashian Paribahan bus hit his motorcycle. He was thrown off the bike as a result of the impact and run over by a Turag Paribahan bus that was speeding towards their direction.
The critically injured Tuhin was taken to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he died around 3pm, DMCH police outpost in-charge Inspector Md Bachchu Miah told Dhaka Tribune.
He said the body has been kept at the hospital's morgue for autopsy.
Police have detained the drivers of both the buses, which have been impounded.
