Bakul was not found at his place during the drive, OC Rashid said
A team of police have conducted a drive at the house of Kabir Bakul, the head of event and activation of Prothom Alo, in Dhaka.
The drive took place around 12pm at his residence on Dilu Road of Hatirjheel area yesterday.
"We went to his house following the arrest warrant issued on Thursday," confirmed Hatirjheel police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid.
However, Bakul was not found at his place during the drive, OC Rashid added.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka court issued an arrest warrant against Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, Deputy Editor Anisul Hoque, and eight others including Kabir Bakul in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC) student Nayeemul Abrar.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam passed the order by looking into a probe report submitted by Mohammadpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Alim, also the investigation officer of the case.
On November 1, Nayeemul Abrar, a grade nine non-residential student of DRMC, was electrocuted by a power generator on the school premises, during a program organized by Kishor Alo, a supplement of Prothom Alo for young readers.
