Earlier, the NHRC chairman went to DMCH to meet the victim and spoke to her regarding the issue

National Human Rights Commission Chairman Nasima Begum has said the Dhaka University student, who was raped at Dhaka’s Kurmitola area on Sunday, will be able to give a vivid description of her assailants.

She made the statement while talking to reporters after visiting the rape survivor at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday.

Earlier, the NHRC chairman went to DMCH to meet the victim and spoke to her regarding the issue.

Nasima has also asked sketches of the rapists to be recreated by an experienced artist to help identify them. 

Earlier on Sunday evening, a second year female student of Dhaka University was raped by an unidentified persons at a secluded place in the city’s Kurmitola area. She left the campus on board a university bus and headed for her friend's house at Khilkhet's Shewra neighbourhood.

On her way, she by got off at Kurmitola by mistake around 7pm, her friends and teachers told reporters after she was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around midnight. 

As the news spread, protests sparked across the capital on Monday over the rape, with protesters taking to the streets demanding arrest of the culprit within 48 hours. Students marched down or occupied some key roads of the city to demand punishment to the rapist.
