Naogaon polytechnic blast victim dies after 21 days

Six other students suffered burn injuries after an explosion took place at the chemistry lab of the institute on December 1

A victim of the explosion at the chemistry lab of Naogaon Polytechnic Institute has succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit.

The deceased is Towhidul Islam, a third year student of Computer Technology department of the institute and son of Atab Ali from Manda upazila, reports UNB.

Atab Ali said Towhidul died early Sunday, after fighting for life for 21 days.

Seven third year students of the department, including Towhidul, suffered burn injuries after an explosion took place at the chemistry lab of the institute on December 1.

They were first taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and later sent to the DMCH as their situation deteriorated.
