Detours will be in place between 6am and 9:30am in Dhaka’s Mirpur area
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued traffic guidelines for residents on the eve of Martyred Intellectuals Day.
Public and private transportation systems have been asked to take detours, around Dhaka’s Mirpur area, between 6am and 9:30am on Friday’s occasion.
These have been arranged to accommodate the high volume of traffic in the area as the president, prime minister, and leaders of different organizations – as well as parties – are set to visit the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial.
Vehicles heading towards Mirpur from Ashulia, via Beribadh, will need to use Shah Ali police station road using a left turn from NawaberBagh crossing.
Modes of transportation that cross the adjoining area of Shah Ali shrine via Mazar road will need to use Darussalam road.
Vehicles moving to Gabtoli from Mirpur 10, via Mazar road, have been directed to use Darussalam road via technical road.
DMPis seeking the public's cooperation in order to maintain discipline, and avoid traffic congestion centring the Martyred Intellectuals Day.
Furthermore, the law enforcement agency has expressed heartfelt consolation for this occasional interruption.
