Teachers and students of JU have been in a movement against VC Farzana Islam
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said the documents about the graft allegation against the Jahangirnagar University Vice Chancellor (VC) will be sent to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for proper measures.
“We are examining the information and documents submitted by teachers and students of Jahangirnagar University who have been in a movement against VC Farzana Islam,” she said.
“The documents will be submitted to the UGC which will take necessary steps after scrutinizing those,” she added, reports UNB.
She made the statement while addressing an event arranged marking the 40th anniversary of Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) in Dhaka on Saturday.
Dipu Moni, also the joint general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said the party will induce such leaders in the council who are aware of present-day politics and can blend the experiences of the veterans with the courage and energy of the youth.
Mentioning that the people of Bangladesh are living in peace and prosperity, the minister said the government has taken many initiatives to improve the quality of higher education in Bangladesh.
Dipu Moni distributed wheelchairs among people with disabilities at CRP at the function which was attended by the founder of the organization Valerie Ann Taylor.
