Two firefighting units went to the spot and doused the fire
Two buses in Dhaka's Kawran Bazar and Kurmitola areas caught fire, but there is no report of any casualties.
Lima Khanam, duty officer at the headquarters of Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the incidents on Saturday.
She said a bus of Trust Services Limited that was heading towards Shahbagh caught fire in Kawran Bazar around 3:10pm.
Two firefighting units went to the spot and doused the fire around 3:35pm, she added.
Lima Khanam also said a report is awaited to know the cause of the fire.
When asked whether the fire incident was sabotage or not, Tejgaon police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim-Or-Rashid said: "We are yet to find any such evidence."
Meanwhile, a bus of BRTC also caught fire in the Kurmitola area around 3:50pm.
Two units rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control around 4:22pm, Lima Khanam said.
"It is suspected that the bus caught fire due to mechanical faults," she added.
