Man dies as residential hotel lift snaps

The deceased had come to Dhaka for a job interview


A man has been killed after a lift in a residential hotel snapped in Dhaka.

The incident took place at Shahin International Hotel at Rasoolbagh, Mohakhali on Sunday.

The deceased Omar Faruk, 36, was a zonal manager at BM Energy Ltd in Chittagong.

Bachchu Miah, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-charge, confirmed the matter.

DMCH duty doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. His body was sent to DMC morgue for an autopsy.

Omar’s wife Reshma said, they had come to Dhaka as Omar had a job interview to attend to.

Omar’s hometown is in Magura’s Mohammadpur.
