It's unusual that three dogs were found dead in two days, animal lover Kakoli said
Three dogs have been killed while eight others disappeared from the Pink City Residential area in Khilkhet of Dhaka in the last two days.
Animal lover Sadia Salma, also the owner of five dogs those were disappeared, has filed a complaint with Khilkhet police station on Tuesday.
According to Salma's complaint, someone killed the dogs and disappeared the others.
Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector Sajal Sarkar, and the investigating officer (IO) of Khilkhet police station told Dhaka Tribune that some animal lovers of the Pink City have informed them about the incidents.
Sadia alleged that eight dogs living in the area were found missing since Tuesday and another one was recovered dead on the same day.
After investigation, police found two more dogs were killed, said the IO adding that a dog was buried, and the other two were sent to Central Veterinary Hospital for autopsy.
There was a widespread discussion after two pet dogs of actor Pran Roy were killed in the same area.
However, after failing to contact Sadia, Dhaka Tribune spoke to another animal lover Shahnawaz Kakoli, a neighbour of Sadia.
Kakoli said: "I take care of five dogs, while Sadia has six dogs, and Any has another three."
Those dogs roam around the streets and spend nights in front of someone's house, she said.
They look after the dogs and give regular treatment and vaccines to the animals, Kakoli added.
“It is unusual that three dogs were found dead in two days. It is a planned killing. Still, eight more dogs are missing. Blood came out from the mouths of all the three dogs when they were found dead," she said.
