"I have already directed the prosecution service to be prepared to handle this case,” the minister said
He made this remarks while addressing to press after coming out of a meeting with a European Union delegation at his secretariat office on Wednesday, reports BSS.
“After filing the charge sheet, we would be able to dispose the case as early as possible. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also asked me to take all necessary steps to manage the quick disposal of the case," he said.
"I have already directed the prosecution service to be prepared to handle this case,” the minister added.
Mentioning that the probe in this case is going on, the minister also said: “It has been easier since most of the accused have been arrested and many of them already confessed to their crimes."
Abrar, a second year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of the university, was beaten to death on October 7.
Some Chhatra League leaders have been accused of mercilessly torturing him for hours and beating him to death, after accusing him of being involved with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
On the same day, Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case with Chawkbazar police station.
Abrar’s death sparked strong protests across Bangladesh. The protesters have demanded justice for Abrar and capital punishment for the murderers.
