Police has so far arrested 19 accused in connection with the case
Detective Branch (DB) of Police Joint Commissioner Mahbub Alam has said the charge sheet of the murder case of Buet student Abrar Fahad will be filed in the first week of November.
“After taking opinions from experts and analyzing the information collected, it will be possible to file the charge sheet in the first week of November,” he said on Sunday.
Police has so far arrested 19 accused in connection with the case.
Among them, Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, Meftahul Islam Zion, Md Anik Sarker, and Muzahidur Rahman Muzahid have so far confessed their involvement with the killing to a Dhaka court.
Some other accused- Mehedi Hasan Rasel, Muhtasim Fuad, Muntasir Alam Jemi, Khandaker Tabakkharul Islam Tanvir and Ishtiaq Ahmed Munna was sent to jail following end of their remand period, said officials.
Currently, nine of the accused are in remand in the office of Detective Branch of Police.
Abrar Fahad, of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, was beaten to death inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.
Several Chhatra League leaders have been accused of mercilessly torturing him for hours and beating him to death, after accusing him of being involved with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Later, Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station.
