Mohila Sramik League, a women's organization, has selected its new president and general secretary.
Suriya Akter and Kazi Rahima Akter Shathi were selected as new president and general secretary of Mohila Sramik League respectively, at its national council held on Saturday at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Dhaka.
Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua said councilors selected Suriya Akter as president while Kazi Rahima Akter Shathi as new general secretary for the next two years, and these new leaders will complete 45-member full committee within two weeks.
Suriya served the organization as executive president while Rahima was organization secretary.
Mohila Sramik League’s last council was held in 2009.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is also the president of Awali League, inaugurated the council, while senior Awami League leaders were also present.
