A total of 19 people have been detained in connection with Abrar's murder
Another accused in Abrar Fahad murder case, Moaz Abu Huraira, has been detained in Dhaka's Uttara area.
A team of the Detective Branch (DB) Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Moaz from sector 14 of Uttara on Saturday morning, Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) of DMP, Obaidur Rahman, confirmed.
Moaz is a student of the 17th batch of the electrical and electronic engineering department (EEE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet). He is the son of Mashrur-uz-Zaman, and hails from Pirpur village under Osmanpur thana under Kuliarchar upazila in Kishoreganj.
Abrar, a second year student of the EEE department, was beaten to death by some activists and leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Buet unit inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of Monday.
Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people-- all Buet students--with Chawkbazar police station on Monday evening.
With Moaz's arrest, a total of 19 have been arrested as of Saturday. Of them, 17 have been placed on remand for different periods.
