Police have recovered the body of an old woman from a house in Mirpur.
The deceased was identified as Shahnaj Parvin, 64, wife of Munshi Abdul Motalib from Rajdhardi village of Madaripur district.
The incident occurred around 12pm on Thursday.
Mirpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Emdadul Islam confirmed the matter.
Daughter-in-law of the deceased, Jasmin Akhter said she saw her mother-in-law Shahnaj’s body lying on the floor with scotch tape tied to her hands, legs, and mouth.
Later, police sent her body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital (ShSMC) morgue for autopsy.
