DNCC evicts illegal establishments in Uttara

They are evicting all illegal establishments along the pavements of the area

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has begun a drive to evict all illegal establishments along the pavements in Uttara.

The drive began at the Zamzam Tower intersection of Sonargaon Janapad avenue around 12pm on Sunday, and worked its way towards Rajlakshmi bus stand.

DNCC Chief Revenue Officer Abdul Hamid Mia and Executive Magistrate Sajid Anwar, administered the drive, and briefed the media in this regard.

Sajid said: "So far, we have evicted three businesses that obstructed the walkways, and imposed fines of Tk3.5 lakh."

Other DNCC sources from the spot confirmed that a Jubo League office situated on road 11 of sector 3 in Uttara was also evicted, which this reporter corroborated from the site.

Officials also said the drive will continue till 2pm, and then start again around 4pm after two hours of respite.
