The DNCC mayor has urged everyone to throw wastage in designated places and dustbins
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has said the second phase of the combing operation, to tackle dengue, is set to start on Sunday.
The DNCC mayor made this announcement while unveiling the nameplate at the Shaheed Zayan Chowdhury Playground in Dhaka's Banani area on Saturday morning.
Atiqul said: “We are all prepared to start the second stage of the drive against Aedes mosquitoes to control Dengue.
“I urge everyone not to throw wastage across Dhaka, and to dispose of them in the designated places and dustbins.”
Earlier on August 20, Mayor Atiqul announced the two-phased combing operation to destroy Aedes larvae, in order to counter the dengue menace, at Fazle Rabbi Park of Dhaka's Gulshan Area.
He said the inspection teams would visit houses in every area during the operation. "If the officials find Aedes larvae in any of the houses, the officials will put up a notice outside the building, which will read ‘Aedes larvae were found at this house.’
He also said the house owners will be fined if the situation stays the same, even after 10days of this initial warning.
