Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will chair the meeting

The Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC), the highest decision-making body of the ruling party, will hold a meeting today (Saturday) to discuss on current political issues.

Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will chair the meeting scheduled to be held at 7pm at Ganabhaban.

Sources inside the party said the committee will discuss in detail on the ongoing issues centering Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central committee.

The ruling party, particularly Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently expressed dissatisfaction with BCL top brass during a meeting of the Local Government Nomination Board.

The meeting will also take a decision on the AL leaders who competed in the election race for the upazila parishad chairman’s office as rebel candidates.

A total 150 party nominated candidates were defeated by rebel candidates in the recently held upazila elections.

The meeting will also discuss on the preparations for the 21st Awami League national council which is scheduled within two months.
