Readymade garment (RMG) workers of a garment of factory of Nassa Group have withdrawn their blockade, after blocking Tejgaon industrial area main road for four hours, demanding the reinstatement and clear dues of the workers who were sacked unreasonably.

Tejgaon Industrial Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Hafiz Al Faruk confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the workers blocked the Saat Rasta intersection around 9:00am to press their demands.

The blockade created huge traffic congestion at Gulshan, Tejgaon and the connecting roads.

“On Wednesday night, they also came to the streets but after the police urged them to lift up the blockade, they went home,” Tejgaon Industrial Police Duty Officer Sub-Inspector (SI) Mostafizur Rahman said.

ADC Hafiz said: “The factory authorities assured the workers to look into the matter and will not further sack anyone without prior notice.”
