Sharp tools prohibited from Tazia procession marking Ashura

This order will remain effective from beginning to end of the procession on Tuesday

On the occasion of the Holy Ashura, muslim devotees have been prohibited to carry all kinds of sharp instruments in Tazia procession 

The information was stated in a press release signed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia aiming to ensure the safety of the residents as Tazia procession will take place at different places in DMP areas of Dhaka on Tuesday.

Bags and explosives, tea flask, pressure cooker, flag staff, and sharp objects such as knives, swords, and blades, will not be allowed in the procession, DMP commissioner said, adding that firecrackers will also remain banned during the event.

This order will remain effective from the beginning to the end of the procession on that day, the release added.
