‘Everybody wants the rule of law and justice to prevail in Bangladesh’
Awami League Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque said the Oikya Front leaders could not confuse diplomats as they do not support any destructive activities.
“The foreign diplomats want to see the continuous development of Bangladesh, so they (diplomats) won’t be confused with wrong information over the elections and other issues,” Razzaque told journalists at his secretariat office, after a meeting with a delegation of professors and researchers of University of Western Australia on Wednesday.
He added: “If the Oikya Front leaders give any misinformation to the foreign diplomats, Awami League is capable enough to face it politically.”
The minister categorically said: “Everybody wants the rule of law and justice to prevail in Bangladesh.”
Terming the law enforcement agencies as disciplined and well-organized, the minister said that no movement could do any harm to this democratically elected government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“BNP is a big political party. But their alliance Oikya Front ultimately failed to launch any movements in the past,” Razzque added.
He hoped that they (Oikya Front) would not launch any agitations in the days to come.
Earlier on Wednesday, senior leaders of Oikya Front held a meeting with foreign diplomats at the capital’s Gulshan area.
BNP Secretary General MirzaFakhrul Islam Alamgir, Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain and BNP Standing Committee Member DrMoyeen Khan were present at that meeting among others.
