Tarique Rahman is spreading lies and hatching a conspiracy while staying in London, Quader said

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said BNP is gradually shrinking in politics and suffering from an identity crisis.

“Since it is etched in people’s minds that BNP was involved in the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and it tried to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through grenade attacks, BNP leaders are talking nonsense, thinking about their future which is in danger” he said.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, made the remarks while addressing a discussion marking the National Mourning Day, organized by Tanti League. The discussion was held at the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Wednesday.

“Their (BNP) hands are stained with blood as they engage in political killings,” he said, adding that they tried to erase Bangabandhu from the history of Bangladesh, but they themselves have been erased.

The reason behind Tarique Rahman’s arrogance is that he was the mastermind behind the 21 August grenade attack, and his father Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind behind the 15 August carnage, Quader said.

“There is no doubt that Bangabandhu’s family is the best example of honesty and all of them, including family members of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, are established in their respective workplaces,” said Quader, urging the leaders and activists not to engage in business using the pictures of Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

Tarique Rahman is spreading lies and hatching a conspiracy while staying in London, Quader said.

The meeting was presided by Tanti League President Engineer Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Awami League Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Tanti League General Secretary Khagendra Chandra Debnath addressed the discussion, among others.
