ASI injured in road accident dies at DMCH

The deceased was a father of two

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) who got injured in a road accident in Dhaka's Bashabo area has died.

Father of two, Assistant Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain Swapan, 39, breathed his last at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 7pm on Wednesday after he got hit by a CNG auto-rickshaw earlier in the day. 

When contacted, Swapan's father, Biyan Badrunnesa said: "My son went for a morning walk in the Dhaka's Bashabo area when he was hit by a CNG auto-rickshaw and got injured. 

"After we heard the news, we took him to DMCH where he died while undergoing treatment."

DMCH police outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Abdul Khan confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

"The body has been kept at the morgue," he said.
