They said so during an event organized for the 'National Citizen Service Day-2019'
People of various ages, and professions of the Gendaria area of Dhaka have urged the government to involve the youth, in youth and woman-friendly citizen services, and to increase government accountability through daylong activities.
The activities started on Tuesday at 10 am. Actionaid Bangladesh organized this event in association with the youth networks "Quality and Accountable Public Services (QAPS)," and Activista Bangladesh, on the occasion of "National Citizen Service Day-2019."
The event included a flash mob, and sticker distribution.
The organizers welcomed the steps taken by the government to ensure citizen services in Bangladesh, and said: "Currently, one-third of the population in Bangladesh are youths, which is a great opportunity for Bangladesh."
"All from private, and public sectors must come forward to use them in the interest of the country. They have to be involved in the overall process," they added.
They think that most young people do not know how to participate in various citizen services, despite many services being available. Also, the services are not always youth, and woman-friendly.
