Lynched child kidnap suspect dies at DMCH

The body has been kept at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy

A 40-year-old man, who was lynched by a mob at Keraniganj on suspicion of being a child kidnapper, has died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) while receiving treatment.

The deceased, who died at 8pm Sunday, is yet to be identified.

Talking to Dhaka Tribune over the phone, Keraniganj Upazila Parishad member Nitiya Sarkar said: “On July 18, locals lynched the man, suspecting him of being a child abductor, near a school at Kholamora Ghat area of Keraniganj. After being informed, I with the help of police rescued the man, and admitted him to DMCH.”

The body has been kept at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.
