Prince Constantijn van Oranje of the Netherlands said this while addressing the closing ceremony of BYLC Youth Leadership Summit 2019 in Dhaka
True leaders value the power of diversity, guard common values and ensure that people can contribute and grow.
Prince Constantijn van Oranje of the Netherlands said this while addressing the closing ceremony of Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC) Youth Leadership Summit 2019 in Dhaka on Saturday.
Addressing the youths present at the event, he said: "Leaders are guardians and scouts for diverse talents with different complementary skills, reflecting the societies and markets they operate in.
"The government is not going to fulfill your dream for you. They might make the process easier or tougher, but in the end, it is your goal, so you need to give it your all, and understand that leadership is about entrepreneurship and governance."
Attending the closing ceremony as its chair, Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi said that the delegates at BYLC summit proved that the commonalities between people from different backgrounds are far stronger than the differences.
"I believe that the young leaders of tomorrow who attended the summit will use what they learned to bridge the gap in differences through tolerance and acceptance," he said.
The BYLC summit brought together 370 university students and young professionals from home and abroad who were selected from over 1,800 applicants.
