The duo were attempting to smuggle the gold out of the airport
A case was filed in a Dhaka court against two traffic helpers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines over seizure of gold bars.
The duo — Emdad Hossain and Abdur Rahim — were charged on Sunday, after they were caught with around four kilograms of gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam placed the duo on five day remand each, as police produced them before the court.
Airport Armed Police Battalion members detained the duo around 2pm on Saturday, when they were trying to smuggle the gold bars, brought by Thai Airline flight TG 321, out of the airport.
The seized gold bars are worth around Tk20,000,000, said police.
