Shahin’s chances of a normal life pretty slim
Police arrested three men in connection with the brutal attack on Shaheen, a van-puller and grade seven madrasa student in Satkhira.
The arrested are Jahangir Alam and Norim Morol of Sarfabad village in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore, and Azgar Hossain of Bajitpur village in Keshabpur upazila.
Around 4am on Wednesday, police arrested the men from their respective homes in Keshabpur, said Satkhira Superintendent of Police (SP) Sazzadur Rahman in a press briefing at his office on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, police brought three arrested suspects— Naimul Islam Nayeem, 24, a neighbour of victim Shahin, Arshad Par alias Nunu Mistri, 65, of village Mirzapur in Kalaroa of Satkhira, and Baker Ali, 45, of village Jhaudanga in Sadar upazila of Satkhira — to the court of Satkhira Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Humayun Kabir.
Of them, the victim’s neighbour, Naimul, confessed to the court that he planned to hijack Shahin’s rickshaw-van by assaulting him.
The court sent the suspects to jail after recording Naimul’s statement.
Shahin was found with a cracked skull after he left home with his van for Satkhira on Friday morning.
He was taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital immediately and was later transferred to DMCH on Saturday night.
A case was filed on Saturday with Patkelghata police station.
