British High Commission expresses condolences over Kalaura train accident

Five people were killed in the incident

The British High Commission in Dhaka has expressed condolences over the train accident that took place on Sunday at Baramchal in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar.

“We are aware of a serious train accident in Moulvibazar. Our thoughts go out to all affected by this serious accident,” the High Commission said on Monday, reports UNB.

They High Commission said they are in touch with the local authorities "seeking further clarification" on whether any British nationals were affected in the train accident in Moulvibazar district.

Police recovered five bodies from the spot, Moulvibazar civil surgeon Shajahan Kabir Chowdhury said.

Over 200 passengers were also injured in the fatal train accident.
