JAAGO provides an education for students with financial difficulties

Zafar Sobhan, editor of Dhaka Tribune, and his wife Farzana Ahmed Sobhan, a teacher and development worker, have supported JAAGO since 2013 and are currently ensuring four children receive an education.

The four JAAGO students—Rakib, Maria, Umme, and Sadbin—are intelligent and hardworking, and they love to go to school to learn new things.

Although the children’s families support the idea of attending school and getting an education, they are often unable to provide this or continue sending their children to school because of their meager incomes.

Many children have to discontinue their education to help their families with chores and engage in income-generating activities. Their dreams of becoming doctors and police officers, helping the sick and the poor, are often forgotten while they struggle with their harsh reality.

A little help from those around us, who are in a position to make a contribution towards their education—these brilliant children with so many dreams—may actually allow them to live those dreams and make better futures for themselves, contributing back to the communities they live in.

A thousand children like Rakib, Maria, Umme, and Sadbin are enrolled in JAAGO schools across the country and are seeking everyone’s kind support. A small monthly contribution of USD 27 (Tk2000) per child can change their lives and pave the path to fulfill their dreams, for a better and brighter future.

One can help the students to flourish and prosper, and be a proud JAAGO sponsor to feel the joy and happiness of sharing.
