A total of 65 gold bars, worth around Tk3.25 crore, were recovered from the packets
A man was detained with 65 gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night.
The arrestee is Md Rajib Dewan who landed at the airport around 11pm from Singapore, reported UNB.
Acting on a tip, a team from customs followed Rajib from the boarding bridge, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Othello Chowdhury said.
Searching his body, the team recovered six packets wrapped with scotch tape that were hidden in his pants, he said.
A total of 65 gold bars, worth around Tk3.25 crore, were recovered from the packets.
