Steps will be taken if the transport authorities charge extra fare during Eid, he said

Security will be heightened across Bangladesh for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said.

“Check posts will be set up at the entrance and exits points in Dhaka,” he said on Sunday.

The minister said police will also hold block raids all across the country.

“Detectives are on alert. Buddha Purnima was celebrated successfully and I hope it will be the same for Eid,” he said.

The minister said the concerned authorities have been asked to pay the wages and bonuses of workers before Eid.

Steps will be taken if the transport authorities charge extra fare during Eid, he added.
