Chhatra League factions clashed at DU after the 29th full central committee was announced
Awami League Acting General Secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif said the factional clash in Bangladesh Chhatra League over its full central committee will soon be resolved.
"It is not a big issue and will be solved very soon," he said.
Hanif stated this at a press briefing at the Awami League president's Dhanmondi political office on Tuesday morning.
Following the announcement of the 29th full central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League, party activists started protesting at the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Monday.
Different factions of Chhatra League activists were seen chasing each other during the protests.
Hanif also said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader—who is now undergoing treatment in Singapore—will return home on Wednesday.
"Obaidul Quader is fully fit and fine. He will return home on Wednesday around 6pm and leaders and activists of Awami League will receive him at the airport," he said.
Hanif, also joint general secretary of the ruling party, said the party will arrange events and an art exhibition on May 17 marking the homecoming day of Sheikh Hasina.
The Awami League leader also thanked party leaders and activists for helping the local administration during cyclone Fani.
