Dhaka dwellers will experience heavy rainfall and cloudy weather throughout Saturday due to cyclone Fani, says Bangladesh Metrological Department (BDM).
The Met office recorded 70mm rain in 24 hours till midday on Saturday, reports UNB.
BMD meteorologist Arif Hossain said: "Heavy rainfall will occur in the city while the sky will remain cloudy over the area today."
The cyclonic storm Fani over Satkhira, Jessore and Khulna regions and adjoining areas moved north-northeastwards further and was located over Faridpur-Dhaka region and adjoining areas around 9am on Saturday.
It is likely to move in a north-northeasterly direction further, said a Met office bulletin.
Under its influence, sky remains cloudy and thunder showers with gusty wind is continuing in Bangladesh.
