He will be able to walk properly after four weeks
Rasel Sarker, who lost his left leg after a Green Line Paribahan luxury coach ran over him, has got prosthetic leg from CRP.
Head of Department of Orthopaedic Anatomy Mohammad Shafiq completed the surgery around 10am on Thursday.
Mohammad Shafiq said: “Rasel has received a Swiss-made artificial leg from CRP and the surgery was free of cost.
“His legs went through medical test and finally the prosthetic was attached. He will be able to walk properly after four weeks till then he will train on the artificial leg for his regular activities,” he added.
Rasel said: “The prosthetic leg reminds me of my old days when I used have both my legs. CRP has given me a new life.
“I am grateful to CRP and all its employees,” he added.

Executive officer of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP), Shafiqul Islam said: “Everyone supported him after the accident, so we tried to help too.
“We will provide him with all the services and supports he needs.”
Rasel lost his left leg on April 28, 2018 after a Green Line Paribahan luxury coach ran him over when he stepped outside his car to check for damage after the bus had rear-ended the car.
The accident occurred on a slope of Mayor Md Hanif Flyover in Dholaipur.
After being informed, police impounded the bus and detained bus driver Kabir near the National Press Club.
On April 10, the High Court asked Green Line Paribahan to pay Rasel Tk50 lakh in compensation. Later, the company handed a cheque of Tk5 lakh to Rasel, while the court gave owner Md Alauddin an extra month to pay the rest.
