A woman—suffering severe burns from a gas cylinder blast—has died while undergoing treatment at burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The deceased, Fatema Begum, 35, died on Monday morning — increasing the incident's death toll to two.

Dr Partha Sankar Pal, resident physician of DMCH burn unit, said: "Fatema succumbed to her injuries around 6:30 am. She suffered 97% burn."

Previously, on Saturday night, Fatema, and her three children, sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at their home in Narayanganj's Fatullah area.
